Convert a HEIC photo to JPG

Open a HEIC photo in the browser and save a JPG. The file stays on the device.

iPhone photos are often saved as HEIC. That format keeps detail in a smaller file, but many email clients, Windows apps, and older printers still expect JPG. Converting on this page keeps the photo on your device.

When JPG is the better file

Use JPG when:

  • a form or portal rejects HEIC
  • you are sending the photo to someone on Windows
  • a printer or lab asks for JPG or JPEG
  • you need a file that opens in almost any browser

Keep the HEIC original if you still want the smaller camera file for your own library.

Open the image converter

  1. Open the image converter.
  2. Choose the HEIC photo from your device.
  3. Wait for the preview. Large photos may take a few seconds in the browser.

Save a JPG

  1. Pick JPG as the output format.
  2. Save the file to a folder you can find later.
  3. Open the JPG once to confirm it looks right before you delete anything.

The conversion runs in this browser. The photo is not uploaded.
