Convert audio to MP3

Turn a WAV or OGG recording into an MP3 in the browser. The file stays on the device.

A WAV recording from a voice memo or editor is easy to edit and large to send. MP3 is smaller and opens in almost every music app and messaging client. Converting on this page keeps the audio on your device.

When MP3 is enough

Use MP3 when you are:

  • emailing or messaging a recording
  • attaching audio to a form that lists MP3
  • archiving a call or memo you do not need to edit again

Keep WAV if you still plan to edit the recording. Each conversion to MP3 discards some detail you cannot get back.

Open the audio converter

  1. Open the audio converter.
  2. Choose the WAV, OGG, or other audio file from your device.
  3. Confirm the length looks right in the preview.

Save an MP3

  1. Pick MP3 as the output format.
  2. Save the file when the conversion finishes.
  3. Play the MP3 once to check volume and length.

The conversion stays on this device. The recording is not uploaded.
