Security and Compliance

Free-Utils is built around a simple security idea: the less of your data we handle, the less there is to protect on a server. File tools run in your browser. Your files stay on your device.

Browser-first processing

Converters, compressors, and the PDF and photo editors process files locally. The file is not uploaded to Free-Utils, and it is not stored on our servers. What you open and what you save remain under your control on the device you are using.

Transport encryption

The site is served over HTTPS. Traffic between your browser and Free-Utils uses TLS so the pages, scripts, and any non-file requests travel on an encrypted connection.

What reaches our servers

Some site features need a network request. A page view may be counted so we can see which tools people open. A suggestion you send is delivered so it can be read. The speed test measures your connection. None of those requests include the contents of a file you opened in a local tool.

Access and operations

Access to production systems is limited to people who need it to keep the site running. We keep changes reviewable, watch for failures, and fix issues that affect availability or trust.

Third-party services

The site may use a small set of infrastructure and monitoring services to host pages, count visits, or catch errors. Those services receive what they need for that job. They do not receive the files you process in browser tools, because those files never leave your device through Free-Utils.

Privacy and data protection

Our privacy page explains what we collect and what we do not. Security and privacy share the same design: keep file work on the device, collect only what the product needs, and say so in plain language.

Secure development

We treat security as part of building and shipping, not as a separate afterthought. Dependencies are kept current when fixes matter. Sensitive configuration stays out of the public app. Changes go through review before they reach production.

Incident response

If something goes wrong that could affect users, we investigate, contain the issue, and repair the cause. When a notice is needed, we will say what happened and what we changed.

Compliance posture

Free-Utils is designed to minimize personal data in file workflows. Because local tools do not upload your files, those files are not sitting in our storage waiting for a retention policy. For the limited data we do handle, such as suggestions and visit counts, we keep the scope narrow and the purpose clear. See the privacy page for the details.
